My name is Jim Barnes. I am a 56-year old elementary public school teacher in Visalia, California, located in the great San Joaquin Valley.

The TRIATHLON ACROSS AMERICA 2006: “I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER “ was a seven-week, 3000-mile, southern crossing of the United States that includes daily running, swimming, and biking. This triathlon is dedicated to my younger brother, Jeff, who suffered a traumatic brain injury four years ago.

Over the past six years I have completed seven marathons, two bicycle centuries, and an olympicdistance triathlon raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A positive outcome of my brother’s tragedy is that our family created the JEFF BARNES BRAIN INJURY FOUNDATION to help other families who find themselves in a similar situation.

Find out how you can continue to support the Jeff Barnes Brain Injury Foundation. Email us to learn more at mail@jbarnesfoundation.org
